Two technicians can have the exact same four jobs on their schedule and finish the day with very different results — one wraps up by 3pm with time for a fifth job, the other is still driving across town at 5pm because the jobs were booked in the order customers called, not in the order that made geographic sense. What it actually is

Route optimization is the practice of sequencing and assigning jobs based on location, travel time, and time windows — not just availability.
